Mission Briefing

Nobody Forgives Like God Does!

Have you ever done something wrong and wondered if it was too big to be forgiven? The prophet Micah had the most amazing answer to that – and it starts with a question that nobody can fully answer: who is a God like YOU?! This mission explores Micah 7:18.

What Does Micah 7:18 Mean?

Micah was amazed – completely blown away – by the fact that God forgives. To “pardon iniquity” means to wipe away wrongdoing as if it never happened. God doesn’t hold onto anger forever, because what He loves most is showing steadfast love – that means faithful, unshakeable, never-quitting love. No mistake is too big, no mess is too great. God delights in forgiving and restoring His people!

Hero Challenge

Think of someone you have been having a hard time forgiving. This week, ask God to help your heart soften toward them – and take one small step toward forgiveness, whether that’s a kind word, a prayer, or simply deciding to let go of the hurt. We forgive because God forgives us!

Did You Know?

Micah lived over 700 years before Jesus was born, yet he wrote about God’s forgiveness as if it was the most remarkable thing in the universe. The name “Micah” actually means “Who is like God?” – which makes this verse even more powerful, because Micah was literally living out his own name when he wrote it!

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

When you say sorry and mean it, God forgives you completely! How does it feel to know God’s love never runs out, no matter what?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Micah asks “Who is a God like you?” – implying the answer is nobody. How does God’s unique, unmatched capacity to forgive challenge you to forgive others in your own life?

♥ Mission Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for a forgiveness that never runs out. Help me to accept Your love when I mess up and to turn around and show that same love to others. There is no one like You.
