Jonah was a prophet chosen by the Lord to deliver a message of repentance to the people of Nineveh, a city known for its wickedness. However, instead of obeying the Lord’s command, Jonah attempted to flee from his divine calling, boarding a ship bound for Tarshish.

Daniel

Daniel was a young Hebrew man taken into captivity by the Babylonian empire when King Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem. Along with other young men, Daniel was chosen to be trained in the ways of the Babylonians to serve in the king’s court. Despite being in a foreign land, Daniel remained true to his faith, refusing to defile himself with the king’s food and wine.

Esther

Esther a Jewish orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai of Susa. Through a series of extraordinary events, Esther was chosen by King Xerxes to become his queen.

Deborah

Deborah was a respected prophetess and judge in Israel during a time of unrest and oppression under Canaanite rule. Known for her wisdom and fairness, Deborah held court under a palm tree, where she offered counsel and judgments to the people of Israel. When the Israelites faced the threat of a powerful Canaanite general named Sisera, Deborah, guided by divine inspiration, called upon Barak, a military leader, to gather troops and challenge Sisera’s forces. Her leadership and prophetic guidance played a crucial role in Israel’s victory over the Canaanites, establishing her as one of the most esteemed leaders in biblical history.
