A Generous Eye Sees Others’ Needs

What does it mean to have a “bountiful eye”? It’s not about perfect eyesight – it’s about the way you see the world! A bountiful eye looks around and notices when someone is hungry, lonely, or in need. Heroes with bountiful eyes are always ready to share. Are you ready to train yours? This mission explores Proverbs 22:9.

What Does Proverbs 22:9 Mean?

A “bountiful eye” means looking at life with a generous spirit – always on the lookout for ways to help others. The verse says that the person who shares their bread (their food, their resources, their time) with people who are poor will be blessed by God. It’s a simple but powerful idea: when we look for ways to give, God notices and blesses us for it. Generosity starts with how we see the people around us.

Hero Challenge

Practice having a “bountiful eye” this week by looking for one person at school, in your neighborhood, or at home who might need something – a kind word, a snack, a friend to sit with at lunch. Take action and make their day a little brighter!

Did You Know?

The book of Proverbs was largely written by King Solomon, who asked God for wisdom above everything else. God gave Solomon more wisdom than anyone before or after him! Many of the Proverbs are short, punchy sayings meant to be easy to remember – kind of like the Bible’s own collection of power-packed life advice.

♥ Mission Prayer

God, give me a bountiful eye that sees the needs of others. Help me to be quick to share and slow to hold back, knowing You bless those who give. Amen.
