Mission Briefing
Jesus Is Getting Your Room Ready
Have you ever been excited about visiting somewhere special and found out that someone had already prepared a room just for you? That is exactly what Jesus promised His followers – and He’s been working on it ever since! This mission explores John 14:2-3.
What Does John 14:2-3 Mean?
Jesus told His disciples He was going to Heaven to prepare a place for them – and for us! He said His Father’s house has many rooms, meaning there is more than enough space for everyone who follows Him. The best part is the promise at the end: Jesus said He will come back and bring us to be with Him. He doesn’t just give us a place – He wants US to be wherever HE is.
Hero Challenge
Draw or describe what you imagine your place in Heaven might look like. Then write one sentence about why being with Jesus is even better than the place itself. Share your drawing or idea with a family member this week.
Did You Know?
Jesus said these words the night before He was crucified, during a special meal with His closest friends. He knew they were about to go through the hardest days of their lives, so He gave them this incredible promise to hold onto. These words have comforted millions of people throughout history during some of their hardest moments.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
If Jesus is making a special place just for you, what is one thing you hope it has?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think Jesus said He wants you to be WHERE He is – not just in a nice place?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Jesus made this promise on the night before He died. What does that tell you about how important His followers were to Him, even in the middle of His own suffering?
♥ Mission Prayer
