Mission Briefing
God Makes a Way Where There Is No Way!
Have you ever been totally stuck – like there was no way forward, no solution, no path through? God specializes in those moments! He loves to make a way through the wilderness and bring rivers to the desert places in our lives. This mission explores Isaiah 43:19.
What Does Isaiah 43:19 Mean?
God was speaking to His people during a very hard season – they were living in exile and felt like everything was hopeless. But God said: I am doing something NEW. Not what I did before – something new! And He said “do you not perceive it?” – as if it was already starting to happen right in front of them. Sometimes God is already working and we just haven’t noticed yet. He makes paths through impossible places – literal wilderness and desert – as a symbol of His power to get us through hard seasons.
Hero Challenge
Think of one area of your life that feels like a “wilderness” or “desert” right now – something that feels dry, stuck, or hopeless. Write it down and then write below it: “God is making a way here.” Pray about it every day this week, asking God to help you see what He is doing.
Did You Know?
When God says “I am doing a new thing,” He actually told His people not to dwell on the past miracles – like when He parted the Red Sea (Isaiah 43:16-18). He was saying the new thing He was about to do would be so amazing that even the Exodus would feel small by comparison. God always has something more ahead – He is never done working!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Does God know how to fix things that seem impossible? What is something you need God to make a way through?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
God asks “do you not perceive it?” – meaning, can you see what I’m doing? How can you practice paying attention to what God is doing in your life?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
God tells His people to stop dwelling on the past and look at the new thing He is doing. Is there a past mistake or hurt that you need to let go of so you can see God’s new work in your life?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, I trust that You are doing a new thing in my life — even when I can't see it yet. Make a way in my wilderness and bring rivers to the dry places. Help me to notice what You are doing. Amen.
