Hebrews 4:16

19 October 2025 · Hero Mission
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Mission Briefing

Come Boldly to God’s Throne!

Imagine being invited to walk right up to the throne of the greatest King in the universe – not with fear, but with total confidence! That’s exactly what this incredible verse says we can do. Are you ready to learn about this amazing invitation? This mission explores Hebrews 4:16.

What Does Hebrews 4:16 Mean?

In ancient times, approaching a king’s throne without permission could mean death – even queens had to wait to be invited! But Hebrews 4:16 says we can come to GOD’S throne – the greatest throne of all – with confidence! This is because Jesus, our Great High Priest, has already made a way for us. His throne is called a “throne of grace” – not a throne of punishment. And when we come, we find mercy for our mistakes and grace to help us in our times of need.

Hero Challenge

The next time you’re struggling, anxious, or unsure what to do, practice “drawing near” to God in prayer instead of trying to figure it all out on your own. Come boldly – not timidly – and tell God exactly what you need. Then watch for His mercy and grace to show up!

Did You Know?

In the Old Testament, only the High Priest could enter the most holy place where God’s presence dwelled – and only once a year, on the Day of Atonement! But when Jesus died on the cross, the thick curtain separating people from God’s presence was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). That was God’s way of saying: the way is now OPEN for everyone. No more barriers!

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

When you need help or feel scared, who do you run to? God wants you to run to Him! What would you tell God if you could talk to Him right now?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

The verse says to come with “confidence.” Why do you think it matters whether we come to God shyly or boldly?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Hebrews says we find mercy AND grace – two different things. Mercy means God doesn’t give us the punishment we deserve. Grace means He gives us blessings we don’t deserve. How does understanding both change the way you feel about coming to God when you’ve messed up?

♥ Mission Prayer

Father, thank You that I can come to Your throne with confidence! I come now — bring me mercy for where I have failed and grace to help me face whatever comes today. Amen.
