Appointed as Earth's Responsible Managers!
Welcome, Faith Force Creation Stewards! Today, we’re learning about our assignment to care for God’s creation, as shared in Genesis 1:28.
Verse Of The Day:
"God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'" (Genesis 1:28)
Have you ever been put in charge of something valuable? God gave humanity an important management assignment!
God blessed humans and gave us authority to “rule over” all creation – fish, birds, and every living creature. But this doesn’t mean we can be reckless or cruel! The word “rule” means to manage responsibly, like a good king cares for his kingdom. We’re supposed to “subdue” the earth – meaning organize, cultivate, and care for it wisely.
God also commanded us to “be fruitful and increase” – He wants humans to thrive and fill the earth! But with this blessing comes responsibility. We’re appointed as Earth’s managers, not its destroyers. Every animal, plant, ocean, and forest is under our care. God is watching how we treat His creation. Are we ruling responsibly as good stewards, or carelessly exploiting what He’s entrusted to us?
Earth Care Manager Badge:
Cut a shield shape from cardboard and divide it into four sections: “Animals,” “Plants,” “Water,” and “Land.” In each section, write one way you’ll be a responsible ruler (recycle, don’t litter, be kind to animals, water plants). Wear your badge to remember you’re God’s appointed creation manager!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for appointing humans as managers of Your beautiful creation! Help us rule responsibly over animals, plants, oceans, and land. When we're tempted to be wasteful or careless, remind us that we're stewards of what belongs to You. Make us faithful creation caretakers! Amen.
