"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10)
Imagine you’re about to embark on a quest to uncover hidden treasures, not of gold or jewels, but of wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 9:10 offers us the starting point for this quest—the fear of the Lord. This isn’t about being afraid but having a deep respect and reverence for God’s power and majesty.
This verse teaches us that true wisdom starts when we recognize who God is and our position in relation to Him. By acknowledging God’s sovereignty and aligning our lives with His will, we open ourselves to deeper insights and greater understanding. It’s about seeing the world through the lens of divine perspective, which changes how we approach every situation, relationship, and decision.
Wisdom Tree Activity:
Create a “Wisdom Tree” on a wall or large poster. Use branches to represent different areas of life where you seek wisdom (like school, friendships, family). Periodically add ‘fruit’ to the branches, which can be insights or verses that answer these questions or provide guidance, symbolizing the growth of your wisdom as you learn to apply God’s principles.
