Courage Carriers: Living with God’s Power and Lov
Verse Of The Day:
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7)
Have you ever felt afraid to do something new or stand up for what’s right? Sometimes we feel nervous, but 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear! Instead, He fills us with His power, love, and self-discipline. That means with God’s help, we can be brave, kind, and make good choices, no matter what we face.
God’s Spirit is like a superhero power that helps us live boldly! When we feel afraid or uncertain, we can remember that God’s power is inside of us, giving us the strength to be courageous. But it’s not just about being strong—God also fills our hearts with love, so we can be kind and care for others, even when it’s hard.
Self-discipline is another gift from God. It helps us make wise choices, stay focused, and do the right thing, even when we don’t feel like it. With God’s power, love, and self-discipline, we can face any challenge with confidence, knowing He’s right there with us.
Courage Shield Craft:
Create a “Courage Shield” at home! Cut out a shield shape from cardboard or thick paper and decorate it with symbols of power, love, and self-discipline, like a heart for love, a lightning bolt for power, and a clock for self-discipline (to show making good choices at the right time). Write today’s verse on the shield and hang it where you can see it every day. This craft helps kids remember that God’s Spirit gives them everything they need to live boldly and make wise choices.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for giving us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. Help us to be brave and confident, knowing that Your strength is in us. Fill our hearts with love so we can share it with others, and teach us to make wise choices every day. May we live courageously for You, trusting in Your Spirit to guide us. Amen.
