Solomon
Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba, born after a time of great personal and national turmoil. When David was nearing the end of his reign, Solomon was chosen by God to succeed him as king. Solomon’s rule began with an important moment.
Jacob
Jacob, the son of Isaac and Rebekah, was born as the younger twin brother of Esau. Early in his life, Jacob lived up to his name (which means “deceiver” or “supplanter”) by tricking his father into giving him the blessing meant for his older brother, Esau.
Mary
Mary was a humble young woman living in Nazareth when the angel Gabriel appeared to her, announcing that she had been chosen to bear the Messiah. Though initially startled, Mary responded with faith and humility, saying, “I am the Lord’s servant.”
Samson
Samson chosen by the Lord to deliver the Israelites from oppression, Samson’s journey was marked by both triumph and tragedy.
