Mission Briefing
One Voice, One Welcome
Imagine a choir where everyone is singing a different song at full volume. It would sound like chaos! Paul prays for God’s family to sing together – not in a boring sameness, but in beautiful harmony that honours God and truly welcomes everyone. This mission explores Romans 15:5-7.
What Does Romans 15:5-7 Mean?
Paul prays that God – who is the source of endurance and encouragement – would help believers live in harmony. That harmony isn’t about everyone agreeing on everything; it’s about being united in who Jesus is and what He has done. When that is the center, we can welcome very different kinds of people. And the amazing goal? That together, with one voice, we glorify God. Our unity is actually an act of worship!
Hero Challenge
Think of someone in your school, family, or community who is hard to get along with or feels very different from you. This week, make one genuine effort to welcome them – sit with them at lunch, say hello, or include them in a game. Remember: Christ welcomed you first.
Did You Know?
The church in Rome was made up of both Jewish and non-Jewish believers who had very different backgrounds, customs, and even ideas about food and worship days. They were struggling to get along! Paul’s letter addresses these tensions directly, calling them to welcome each other the same way Christ welcomed all of them – unconditionally and without reservation.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
What does it feel like when someone welcomes you and makes you feel included?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Paul says to welcome others the way Christ welcomed you. How did Christ welcome people – what did that look like?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Romans 15 was written to people with real disagreements and cultural differences. What does it look like to be unified without being identical – and why does that kind of unity bring glory to God?

God of endurance and encouragement, help me welcome people the same way Jesus welcomed me — without conditions, without judgment, and with genuine love. Help our family and community glorify You with one voice. Amen.
