Accept Everyone Like Jesus Does!
Welcome, Faith Force Unity Builders! Today, we’re learning to accept one another just as Christ accepted us, as shared in Romans 15:5-7.
Verse Of The Day:
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." (Romans 15:5-7)
Have you ever been in a choir or group where everyone sang different songs at the same time? It would sound terrible! Paul teaches us how God’s family should work together in unity!
Paul prays that God would “give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” What attitude did Jesus have? He accepted EVERYONE – rich and poor, popular and unpopular, different races, different backgrounds. He loved people who were nothing alike! Paul wants us to have that SAME attitude toward each other!
When we do, something amazing happens: “so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Even though we’re all different people, we can have ONE MIND (thinking the same way about what matters) and ONE VOICE (working together) to bring glory to God! It’s like a beautiful choir where different voices sing together in harmony!
The key command: “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Jesus accepted YOU even with all your flaws, mistakes, and differences. So you should accept OTHERS the same way – even when they’re different from you, even when they’re not perfect, even when they’re not like you! When we accept each other like Jesus does, it brings praise to God!
My "Accept Like Jesus" Challenge
Draw a large circle on paper representing God’s family. Inside, draw or write names of people who are DIFFERENT from you – different age, different background, different personality, different interests, different appearance. This week, intentionally ACCEPT and include at least THREE people who are different from you. Be friendly to someone who’s usually alone, include someone who’s different, or show kindness to someone you normally wouldn’t talk to. Remember – Jesus accepted YOU, so accept OTHERS the same way!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, give us the same attitude toward each other that Jesus had! Help us accept one another just as Christ accepted us, even when people are different from us. Help us work together with one mind and one voice to bring You glory. Make us unity builders who accept everyone like Jesus does! Amen.
