Mission Briefing
Start Every Morning With God!
What’s the first thing you do every morning? Grab your phone? Look for breakfast? King David had a powerful habit – he started every single day by listening for God’s love and asking for direction. Let’s learn his secret! This mission explores Psalms 143:8.
What Does Psalms 143:8 Mean?
David wrote this psalm during a really tough time – enemies were chasing him and he felt crushed. But even in the middle of that darkness, the first thing he asked for was to hear God’s “steadfast love” in the morning. Steadfast love means a love that NEVER quits, no matter what happens. David trusted that if he started his day with God, God would show him which way to go.
Hero Challenge
For the next five mornings, before you look at a screen or start your day, spend two minutes talking to God. You can say something like, “Good morning, God! I trust You today. Show me what to do.” Notice how starting your day this way changes the rest of it!
Did You Know?
Psalm 143 is one of seven psalms known as the “Penitential Psalms” – psalms that express sorrow, trust, and a deep need for God. King David wrote many of the psalms while hiding in caves or running from enemies, yet his faith never stopped! His habit of seeking God in the morning is something millions of people have copied for thousands of years.
