God Is Your Sun and Shield!
Imagine having the sun to light your way and a shield to protect you everywhere you go. That’s what God is like for those who follow Him! Psalm 84 is one of the most beloved psalms in the Bible, and this verse packs two incredible truths into one powerful line. Let’s dig in! This mission explores Psalm 84:11.
What Does Psalm 84:11 Mean?
The psalm writer calls God a “sun” – meaning God lights up our lives, gives us warmth, and helps us see where to go. He also calls God a “shield” – meaning God protects us from danger and harm. Then comes the promise: God gives favor (kindness and blessing) and honor to His people, and He never holds back anything good from those who walk uprightly – meaning those who try to live the right way with His help. Walking uprightly doesn’t mean being perfect; it means walking in step with God.

Did You Know?
Psalm 84 was written for pilgrims traveling to the temple in Jerusalem to worship God. The journey could be long and difficult, crossing dry valleys and rough terrain. This psalm was like their road song – reminding them that God was with them every step of the way, lighting their path and protecting them on the journey.
