God: Your Sun AND Your Shield!
Welcome, Faith Force Blameless Walkers! Today, we’re learning about God’s dual provision and protection, as shared in Psalm 84:11.
Verse Of The Day:
"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless." (Psalm 84:11)
Have you ever needed both sunshine for warmth and a shield for protection? God provides both!
“The Lord God is a sun and shield” – like the sun, God provides light, warmth, life, and energy we need to grow! Like a shield, He protects us from spiritual attacks and dangers. We need both provision AND protection. “The Lord bestows favor and honor” – He gives us His approval and lifts us up with dignity.
The incredible promise: “no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” God doesn’t hold back anything that’s truly good for people living with integrity! Notice it says “good thing” – God knows the difference between what we want and what’s actually good for us. When we walk blamelessly, we can trust that God isn’t keeping any truly good thing from us. If He hasn’t given it yet, either it’s not truly good for us or the timing isn’t right!
Sun and Shield Promise Wheel:
Divide a paper plate into four sections: “Sun – Provides,” “Shield – Protects,” “Bestows Favor,” “Gives Good Things.” In each section, write examples of how God fulfills these roles in your life. Spin your wheel daily to remember God’s complete care!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for being both our sun and our shield! Thank You for providing what we need and protecting us from harm. Help us walk blamelessly so we can experience Your promise of withholding no good thing. Help us trust that if You haven't given something, it's not truly good for us. Amen.
