A kiss? For giving an honest answer? This might sound funny at first, but this proverb is saying something really special – that when you tell someone the truth, you’re giving them one of the greatest gifts a friend can give! This mission explores Proverbs 24:26.
What Does Proverbs 24:26 Mean?
In Bible times, a kiss on the lips was one of the most personal and affectionate greetings – reserved for very close family and dear friends. This proverb is saying that someone who gives you an honest answer loves you deeply. It’s easy to tell people what they want to hear, but real friendship tells the truth – even when it’s hard. Honest words, given with kindness, are a sign of true love and loyalty.
