Mission Briefing
Make Your Family Proud the Right Way
What’s the best gift you could ever give your parents? Proverbs has a surprising answer – and it has nothing to do with buying something at the store! This mission explores Proverbs 23:24.
What Does Proverbs 23:24 Mean?
This verse tells us that parents feel deep, real joy when their children choose to do what’s right and grow in wisdom. It’s not about being the best at sports or getting perfect grades – it’s about becoming a person who loves God and makes wise choices. When you choose kindness, honesty, and wisdom, you give your family a gift that money can’t buy.
Hero Challenge
This week, look for one moment to make a wise choice when no one is watching – maybe telling the truth about something, helping a sibling without being asked, or walking away from a bad situation. Tell a trusted adult about it afterward and see how it makes them feel.
Did You Know?
The book of Proverbs is largely written from a parent speaking to their child! King Solomon, known as the wisest man who ever lived, wrote many of these words to teach his own son how to live well. These thousands-of-years-old lessons still work perfectly today.
