Mission Briefing

Powered Up by God

Have you ever faced something that felt way too hard – a tough test, a scary situation, or something you just didn’t think you could do? This verse is one of the most powerful promises in the whole Bible, and it’s just ten words long. Get ready to discover what it really means! This mission explores Philippians 4:13.

What Does Philippians 4:13 Mean?

The apostle Paul wrote this while he was in prison – not exactly an easy situation! He had learned something incredible: no matter what he was going through, God gave him the strength to handle it. This verse isn’t a magic spell to win every game or ace every test. It means that when God calls you to do something, He will always give you the power to get it done. You’re never doing hard things alone.

Hero Challenge

Think of one thing this week that feels too hard or scary for you. Write it down and next to it write: “God strengthens me for this.” Before you try it, say a quick prayer and ask God to fill you with His strength. Then go for it – and notice how He helps you through!

Did You Know?

Paul wrote this letter to his friends in Philippi while he was chained in a Roman prison. Even in chains, he wrote about joy and strength! His attitude changed everything around him, and some of the prison guards even started believing in God because of Paul’s example.

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

When something is too hard to do by yourself, who can you ask for help?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

Paul was in prison when he wrote this verse. How do you think he could feel strong even when things were really hard?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

This verse is often used to mean “I can do anything I want.” But Paul said it in the context of being content in hard times. How does knowing that change how you understand what God’s strength really is?

♥ Mission Prayer

God, thank You that I never have to face hard things alone. Fill me with Your strength today for every challenge in front of me. Help me to trust in Your power instead of just my own. Amen.
