Wise Builders: Building Your Life on a Strong Foundation
Verse Of The Day:
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." (Matthew 7:24)
Imagine you’re building a big, beautiful house. You want it to be strong and safe, right? What if you built it on soft sand? When the rain and wind come, the house might fall down! But if you build it on a solid rock, it will stand strong, no matter what happens. In Matthew 7:24, Jesus tells us that our lives are like that house. If we listen to His words and do what He says, we’re like the wise builder who built his house on a rock.
Jesus’ teachings are like the strong rock that helps us make good choices and live a life that pleases God. When we follow His guidance, we’re building a life that can stand firm, even when challenges come our way. Whether it’s being kind, telling the truth, or trusting God, each good choice is like adding another brick to our strong, safe house.
But if we don’t listen to Jesus and make bad choices, it’s like building our life on shaky ground. When trouble comes, it’s much harder to stay strong. That’s why Jesus wants us to build our lives on His teachings—they help us stay strong, safe, and close to God.
Rock Solid House Craft:
Create a “Rock Solid House” craft! Use a small box (like a cereal box) and decorate it to look like a house. Write or draw pictures of the things Jesus teaches us, like kindness, honesty, and faith, on the walls of the house. Then, find a big, strong rock or make one out of clay and place your house on top of it. Keep this craft in your room as a reminder to build your life on the strong foundation of Jesus’ teachings. This activity helps kids remember that following Jesus’ words makes their lives strong and safe.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You for teaching us how to build our lives on a strong foundation. Help us to listen to Your words and to follow them every day. May our lives be like a house built on solid rock, standing firm in Your love and truth. Guide us in making good choices that honor You and keep us close to You. Amen.
