Mission Briefing
Stay Alert, Hero – Be Ready!
Imagine a superhero who falls asleep on the job – yikes! Jesus had a very important message for us: stay awake, stay sharp, and always be ready. But what does that really mean for a kid like you?
What Does This Mean?
Jesus wasn’t just talking about keeping your eyes open! He was telling His followers to stay spiritually alert – paying attention to God, growing in faith, and living ready. We don’t know exactly when Jesus will return, so every day is a great day to do good, love others, and stay close to God. Think of it like a hero always being suited up and ready for action!
Hero Challenge
Each morning this week, ask yourself: “How can I be a ready hero today?” Look for one chance to show kindness, help someone, or encourage a friend. Being alert means spotting the good you can do right now!
Did You Know?
Mark 13 is sometimes called the “Olivet Discourse” because Jesus gave this talk on the Mount of Olives. He used the picture of a homeowner waiting for their master to return to explain how His followers should live – always ready, always faithful. It was one of Jesus’ most detailed talks about the future!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
If Jesus was coming to your house today, how would you want Him to find you – being kind and good, or being grumpy and lazy?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What does it mean to “stay awake” for God – what are some ways you can do that in your everyday life?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Why is it important to live each day faithfully even when we don’t know exactly when Jesus will return? How does that change your daily choices?
♥ Mission Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me stay alert and ready every single day. Teach me to live faithfully and look for ways to do good, no matter what. I want to be found ready when You call.
