Mission Briefing
Be a Spark for Someone Else!
Did you know that YOU have the power to help your friends become their best selves? It’s true! God says we should think carefully about how to encourage each other to do more loving and good things. You’re like a spark that can ignite a whole fire of goodness!
What Does This Mean?
“Stir up” is a great phrase – it means to wake something up or get it moving, like stirring a pot on the stove. God wants us to do that for each other! We’re supposed to think on purpose about how to motivate our friends and family toward love and doing great things. It’s not an accident – it takes thought and care.
Hero Challenge
Choose one person this week and think specifically about what encourages THEM – not just a general compliment, but something personal. Write them a note, tell them something specific you admire, or invite them to join you in doing something kind for someone else.
Did You Know?
The book of Hebrews was written to people who were going through hard times and starting to give up on their faith. The writer told them the secret to staying strong – stick together and keep cheering each other on! This is still one of the best strategies for living a strong faith-filled life today.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Can you think of something nice you could say to a friend today to make them smile and do something good?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What does it mean to “stir up” someone toward love and good works? What’s an example of doing that at school?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
It’s easy to point out when people do something wrong. Why is it harder – and more powerful – to intentionally think about how to encourage someone toward what is good? How can you make that a habit?
♥ Mission Prayer
Father God, thank You for the friends and family You have placed in my life. Help me to encourage them on purpose and stir them up toward love and good things. Show me exactly what each person needs to hear from me this week. Amen.
