Mission Briefing
Ephesians 6:14-15 tells us the first pieces of God’s armor to put on – and they might surprise you. Truth. Righteousness. Peace. Not laser weapons or a superpower. A belt. A breastplate. Boots. But here’s the cool thing: in Roman times, a soldier’s belt held everything else in place. Without it, the whole armor would fall apart. That’s what TRUTH does in your life. When you’re honest – with yourself, with others, with God – everything else holds together. Integrity is the belt that keeps you from falling apart under pressure.
The breastplate of righteousness protects your heart. Doing what’s right – even when it’s hard, even when nobody’s watching – keeps your heart safe. And the boots of peace? They mean you go places ready to bring peace, not stir up trouble. Every step you take can carry God’s peace into the room. That’s a pretty incredible superpower, actually.
What Does Ephesians 6:14-15 Mean?
Integrity means being the same person whether someone is watching or not. It means telling the truth when lying would be easier. It means doing the right thing when the wrong thing would go unnoticed. That’s what this armor piece is all about. When you choose integrity, you’re not just being a “good kid” – you’re suiting up for battle.
Mission Activity
Cut three strips of paper. Label them: TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE. Make them into loops (like chain links) connected together. Hang them somewhere in your room. Each morning this week, look at them and say: “Today I’ll tell the truth. Today I’ll do what’s right. Today I’ll bring peace.” Try it for five days and see how your week changes. (Note: the verse above is paraphrased to help younger readers connect with its meaning. The original is Ephesians 6:14-15 NIV.)
♥ Mission Prayer
Dear God, help me wear truth every day — not just when it's easy. Help me do what's right even when nobody's watching. Let my life be covered in Your righteousness and let me carry peace wherever I go. Amen.
