Faith Stronger Than Gold: Tested and Precious!
Welcome, Faith Force Treasure Hunters! Today, we’re discovering how difficult times make our faith more precious than gold, as taught in 1 Peter 1:6-7.
Verse Of The Day:
"In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." (1 Peter 1:6-7)
Have you ever gone through a really hard time and wondered why it was happening? 1 Peter 1:6-7 gives us an amazing answer about the purpose of difficult times!
This passage teaches us two important truths. First, sometimes we “suffer grief in various trials”—difficult times happen to everyone, even people who love God! Second, these hard times have a special purpose: they test our faith to prove it’s genuine, making it “of greater worth than gold.” Just like fire makes gold pure and more valuable, tough times can make our faith stronger and more precious.
How wonderful to know that our struggles aren’t meaningless! When we face hard times and still choose to trust God, our faith becomes like pure gold—incredibly valuable and beautiful. The difficulties we face today are making our faith stronger for tomorrow.
Faith Stronger Than Gold Box:
Decorate a small treasure box with golden paper and jewels. Inside, place paper “gold coins” with words like “Trust,” “Hope,” “Prayer,” and “God’s Love” written on them. On the outside, write “My Faith is More Precious Than Gold!” This reminds us that difficult times make our faith even more valuable!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for helping us understand that difficult times have a purpose—to make our faith stronger and more precious than gold. When we face trials, help us remember that You are using them to prove how genuine our faith is. Give us strength to keep trusting You even when things are hard, knowing our faith is becoming more beautiful and valuable. Amen.
