Mission Briefing
Born Into a Living Hope
Imagine getting a brand-new start – like a completely fresh beginning where the old sad stuff is gone. That’s exactly what Peter is describing here! Because Jesus rose from the dead, we get a living, breathing, unstoppable hope. This mission explores 1 Peter 1:3.
What Does 1 Peter 1:3 Mean?
Peter says we are “born again” – which means God gives us a totally new life on the inside. This new life comes with a “living hope,” meaning a hope that is alive and active, not just a wish. It’s all because Jesus didn’t stay dead – He rose again, and that changes everything for us too. Because He lives, our hope lives!
Hero Challenge
Think about a time you felt hopeless about something and then things got better. This week, tell someone about the living hope you have because of Jesus. It could be a friend, a sibling, or a parent – share what makes your hope feel alive!
Did You Know?
Peter wrote this letter to encourage believers who were going through really tough times – they were being treated unfairly because of their faith. He wanted them to remember that the resurrection of Jesus was proof that God can bring life out of the darkest situations. Peter himself had gone from fear to fearless because of the resurrection!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
What does it mean for hope to be “alive”? Can you think of something alive that grows?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why does Jesus rising from the dead give us hope? What does it tell us about what God can do?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Peter calls this a “living hope” – what would a dead or dying hope look like compared to a living one? How does your daily life reflect that your hope is alive?
♥ Mission Prayer
Father God, thank You for giving me a brand-new start and a living hope through Jesus. Because He rose from the dead, I know nothing is impossible for You. Help my hope stay strong and alive every day. Amen.
