Mission Briefing

Jesus Is Our Greatest Wisdom

What if true wisdom was not something you had to find on your own, but someone you could know personally? Paul tells us something mind-blowing: Jesus Himself is our wisdom – and so much more. Every treasure we could ever need is found in Him! This mission explores 1 Corinthians 1:30.

What Does 1 Corinthians 1:30 Mean?

Paul is writing to a church in Corinth – a city full of people who were proud of how smart and educated they were. He wanted them to understand that the best wisdom in the universe is not something you learn in school. Jesus is our wisdom – He shows us how to live. He is our righteousness – He makes us right with God. He is our sanctification – He makes us holy. And He is our redemption – He bought us back from sin. Everything we need is wrapped up in one Person.

Hero Challenge

Write the four words from this verse – wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption – on four separate cards. Look up what each one means and write a simple definition in your own words on the back. Display them somewhere you will see them. These four gifts are yours because of Jesus!

Did You Know?

The city of Corinth was famous in the ancient world for its philosophers and scholars – people who spent their whole lives chasing wisdom. Paul wrote this letter to show them that all their searching was pointing toward Jesus, who is the ultimate answer to every deep question humanity has ever asked. The wisest minds of history were looking for what believers in Jesus already have.

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

Paul says Jesus is our wisdom. What is the smartest thing you know about Jesus?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

Why do you think it matters that Jesus is both our wisdom AND our forgiveness? How are those two things connected?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Paul wrote this to people who prided themselves on human wisdom and intelligence. How does the idea that Jesus is our wisdom challenge the way the world defines what it means to be smart or successful?

♥ Mission Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being my wisdom, my righteousness, and my redemption. I do not have to figure out life on my own because You have given me everything I need. Help me know You more and trust You completely. Amen.
