Mission Briefing
God Is on Your Side!
Imagine you are about to face the biggest challenge of your life – a hard test, a bully, a scary situation – and then someone taps you on the shoulder. You turn around, and it is the most powerful being in the universe. And He says, “I am with you.” That is exactly the truth Paul is reminding us of in Romans 8:31!
What Does Romans 8:31 Mean?
Paul asks a really good question: if God – the One who made galaxies and holds the whole universe together – is on your side, who could possibly stop you? The answer is: nobody. That does not mean life will always be easy. But it means no problem, no enemy, no fear, and no failure is bigger than the God who is for you. You face nothing alone.
Hero Challenge
Write Romans 8:31 on a small piece of paper and carry it with you this week. Whenever you feel nervous, scared, or outnumbered, pull it out and read it. Let the truth of it sink in – God is for you, not against you, and that changes everything.
Did You Know?
The apostle Paul wrote Romans while under intense pressure from people who wanted to stop the spread of the good news about Jesus. He had been beaten, imprisoned, and rejected – but nothing could shake his confidence in God. This verse comes from a chapter that is often called one of the most powerful chapters in the entire Bible!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Who does this verse say is “for us” – on our side?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Can you think of a time when you felt scared or alone? How does knowing God is for you make that feel different?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Romans 8:31 does not mean God removes every obstacle. How can knowing God is “for you” help you face hard things with courage instead of running away from them?
♥ Mission Prayer
God, thank You for being on my side. When I feel scared or outnumbered, remind me that You are bigger than anything I face. Help me to be brave because I know You are with me. Amen.
