Peace With God – It Is Real!
Have you ever had a big fight with someone you love and then finally made up – and felt that wave of relief and peace wash over you? That is a tiny taste of what Romans 5:1 is talking about. Through Jesus, we have been given something even more amazing: actual, lasting peace with God Himself.
What Does Romans 5:1 Mean?
“Justified” is a big word that means God has declared us not guilty – like a judge who says “case dismissed!” Because of what Jesus did for us, the barrier between us and God is gone. And when that barrier is gone, what replaces it is peace. Not the shaky kind of peace that depends on everything going right, but a solid, deep peace that comes from being in a right relationship with the God who made you and loves you completely.
Hero Challenge
The next time you feel anxious, worried, or unsettled inside, stop and remind yourself of this truth: “I have peace with God through Jesus Christ.” Say it out loud if you can. Peace is not just a feeling to chase – it is a fact to stand on. Let the truth of it settle you down from the inside out this week.
Did You Know?
Romans is considered one of the most important letters ever written. Paul wrote it to explain the full scope of what Jesus accomplished – and peace with God is one of the first great results he mentions. In a world full of conflict, anxiety, and uncertainty, this peace is extraordinary. It was worth everything to God to make it possible for us.

What does this verse say we have through Jesus?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What does it mean to be “at peace” with someone? How does being at peace with God change the way you feel inside?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Peace with God is described as something we “have” – present tense, already true. How does knowing peace with God is a fact (not just a feeling) help you when life feels anything but peaceful?
♥ Mission Prayer
Jesus, thank You for making peace between me and God. That is the greatest gift I could ever receive. Help me to stand on this truth every day — especially when things around me feel chaotic or scary. Amen.
