Mission Briefing
We live in a world that never seems to stop. There’s always noise, always a screen, always something happening that needs your attention right now. So when Psalms 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God,” it’s almost a radical act. Stop. Be still. And in that stillness, let the truth land: God is God, and you are not. That’s not meant to make you feel small. It’s meant to make you feel free.
Stillness is actually an act of trust. When you stop trying to control everything, stop spinning out about every possible problem, stop filling every second with noise – you’re saying with your body what you want your heart to believe: “God, You’ve got this.” That’s not giving up. That’s the most powerful thing you can do. Recognising who God is changes the size of every problem in your life instantly.
What Does Psalms 46:10 Mean?
You don’t have to solve everything. You don’t have to figure it all out. You don’t have to keep going and going until you drop. God is asking you to stop, be still, and know – really know – that He is the one in charge. Not you. Not your worries. Him. And when you truly believe that, rest comes naturally, peace follows, and you can face whatever comes next from a place of solid ground.
Mission Activity
Set a timer for two minutes. Sit somewhere quiet – floor, chair, outside, wherever. No phone, no talking. Put your hands in your lap and take slow, deep breaths. Every time your mind wanders to a worry or a to-do, say quietly: “Be still. God is God.” When the timer goes off, write or draw one thing that feels different after the two minutes of stillness.

Dear God, the world around me is often so loud and busy and fast. Help me to be still — really still — and to remember who You are. You are God. You are in control. You don't need me to panic or fix everything. Teach me to trust You with the stillness. Amen.
