Patient Climbers: Waiting on God to Lift Us Up
Verse Of The Day:
"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." (Psalm 40:1-2)
Imagine being stuck in a muddy pit, trying to get out, but your feet keep slipping. It’s hard and frustrating! But then, someone strong comes along and pulls you up, placing you on solid, dry ground. That’s what God does for us when we trust Him. In Psalm 40:1-2, David tells us that he waited patiently for God, and God rescued him from a tough situation and set him on a firm, safe path.
Sometimes in life, we feel like we’re stuck in the mud. It could be a problem we’re facing, a worry, or a feeling that we can’t seem to shake. But when we cry out to God and trust Him, He hears us. Even if the answer doesn’t come right away, God is always working to help us. And when He lifts us up, He puts us on solid ground, giving us strength and confidence.
God asks us to be patient and trust Him, just like climbers who take careful steps to reach the top of a mountain. When we trust God’s timing and let Him lift us up, we find a safe and strong place to stand.
Solid Ground Footprints Craft:
Create “Solid Ground Footprints” at home! Draw or trace your feet onto paper and cut them out. On each footprint, write something you’re waiting for God to help you with, like “Patience,” “Healing,” or “Strength.” Decorate the footprints with bright colors and place them on the floor to represent God lifting you out of hard situations and placing you on solid ground. This craft helps kids understand how waiting on God can lead them to safety and strength.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for hearing our cries and lifting us up when we feel stuck. Help us to be patient and trust Your timing, knowing that You will always set us on solid ground. Give us strength to wait for Your help and confidence in the path You place us on. Amen.
