What Does Psalm 89:14 Mean?

This psalm is telling us something huge about who God is at His very core. His rule over the universe isn’t built on force or fear – it’s built on doing what’s right (righteousness), treating everyone fairly (justice), loving faithfully (steadfast love), and always keeping His promises (faithfulness). These four things aren’t extras for God – they’re the very foundation of everything He is and does.

Psalm 89 is one of the longest psalms in the Bible, and it was written during a very dark time when it seemed like God’s promises might not come true. Yet the writer chose to anchor himself in the truth of who God is – His character doesn’t change, even when life gets hard. What a powerful example of faith!
