Mission Briefing
True Beauty Comes From the Inside!
Have you ever seen someone who looked really cool or popular, but turned out to be unkind? Or someone who wasn’t flashy at all, but was incredible once you got to know them? God says the thing that really counts is on the inside – a heart that loves and honors Him!
What Does This Mean?
“Charm” means being likeable or impressive on the outside. “Vain” means something that doesn’t last – like a flower that wilts. God says charm can fool you, and outer beauty fades. But a person who “fears the Lord” – who deeply loves, respects, and honors God – that’s someone truly worth looking up to! Fear of the Lord here doesn’t mean being scared of God; it means having such great respect for Him that you want to please Him in everything.
Hero Challenge
This week, instead of focusing on how you look or how others see you on the outside, spend five minutes each morning asking God to build inner beauty in you – like kindness, honesty, and love. Write down one inner quality you want to grow in and watch for chances to practice it!
Did You Know?
Proverbs 31 is famous for describing a woman of incredible character – she’s hardworking, generous, wise, and faithful. But the very last verse reveals the secret of it all: her love for God is what makes everything else possible. God-honoring character is available to boys and girls, men and women – it’s for every hero who chooses to put God first!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
What is more important – what you look like on the outside or what’s in your heart? What do you think God cares about most?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think charm and beauty can sometimes trick us? What is one way you can grow in inner beauty this week?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
The world around us spends a lot of time on outer appearance. How does this verse challenge the way our culture thinks? How can you live differently in a way that honors God?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, help me care more about my heart than my appearance. Build real beauty inside me — kindness, love, and a deep respect for You. I want to be someone who is praised for the right reasons — because I honor You in everything. Amen.
