Don't Worry: God Cares for You!
Welcome, Faith Force Nature Explorers! Today, we’re discovering how God takes care of us, just as He takes care of nature, as taught in Matthew 6:25-26.
Verse Of The Day:
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26)
Have you ever worried about something you needed? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25-26 that we don’t need to worry because God takes care of us!
Jesus points us to two important lessons from nature. First, He reminds us to “look at the birds of the air.” Birds don’t plant gardens or save food in refrigerators, yet God makes sure they have what they need to eat every day! Second, Jesus asks a powerful question: “Are you not much more valuable than they?” If God takes such good care of birds, how much more will He care for you, His precious child!
When we start to worry about things we need, Jesus wants us to remember that God knows exactly what we need and loves us even more than the birds and flowers He cares for so wonderfully. Our worries can be replaced with trust when we remember how valuable we are to God.
God Cares for Me Jar:
Decorate a clear jar and cut out small paper birds and flowers. On each one, write something you might worry about. Place them in the jar, and whenever you feel worried, look at your jar and remember: If God cares for birds and flowers, He certainly cares for you!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for caring about every part of our lives. When we start to worry about what we need, help us remember the birds and flowers that You take care of so well. Thank You for valuing us even more than these beautiful parts of Your creation. Help us trust You instead of worrying. Amen.
