You Got It Free — Now Give It Free!
Jesus gave His disciples an incredible mission and then reminded them of something important: everything they had received from God was a free gift. Because of that, they were to give freely too. That same truth applies to you and me today!
What Does This Mean?
In Matthew 10:8, Jesus sent His disciples out to do amazing things and told them not to charge people for what they gave. The big idea is this: everything good we have — love, forgiveness, kindness, faith — came to us as a free gift from God. Since we didn’t earn it, we shouldn’t be stingy with it. We should pass it on freely to others.
Hero Challenge
Think about a gift or talent God has given you — maybe you’re great at making people laugh, drawing pictures, or being a good listener. This week, use that gift to serve someone else completely for free, with no strings attached. Notice how it feels to give the way God gives to us.
Did You Know?
In Jesus’ day, there were teachers and healers who charged people a lot of money for their services. Jesus wanted His followers to be completely different — to serve out of love, not for payment. This radical generosity was one of the things that made the early faith community stand out to everyone around them.
