Mission Briefing
Rest Is Part of the Mission
Did you know that even Jesus told His disciples to stop and rest? It might sound strange – but taking a break is actually part of being a strong hero of faith! This mission explores Mark 6:31-32.
What Does Mark 6:31-32 Mean?
Jesus and His disciples had been so busy helping people that they didn’t even have time to eat! Jesus knew they needed to rest before they could keep going. He cared about their bodies and minds, not just the work they were doing. God designed us to need rest, and taking time to recharge is wise, not weak.
Hero Challenge
This week, find one quiet moment each day – even just ten minutes – to step away from screens, noise, and busyness. You could sit outside, read, or simply be still and thank God for the day. Notice how rest makes you feel stronger and happier.
Did You Know?
The Sea of Galilee, where Jesus and the disciples sailed, is about 13 miles long. Getting into a boat to find a quiet place was like going on a mini retreat! Jesus valued those peaceful moments so much that He made time for them even when crowds followed Him everywhere.

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think Jesus told His disciples to rest instead of just keep working? What does that tell you about how God feels about you?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
In a world that says being busy all the time is good, how can choosing to rest be an act of faith and trust in God?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving me permission to rest. Help me trust that You are in control even when I slow down. Teach me to find strength in quiet moments with You.
