Mission Briefing
God Even Knows How Many Hairs Are on Your Head!
Here’s a wild question – do you know how many hairs are on your head? Probably not! But God does. Every single one. And if He keeps track of that, just imagine how much He cares about everything else about you! This mission explores Luke 12:6-7.
What Does Luke 12:6-7 Mean?
In Jesus’ time, sparrows were tiny birds that were worth almost nothing – you could buy five for just a couple of pennies. But Jesus said God doesn’t forget even one of them. Then He said something even more amazing – God knows the exact number of hairs on your head! This is Jesus’ way of saying: God pays close, careful attention to you. You are never invisible to Him. You are never forgotten. You are precious.
Hero Challenge
Make a “God Sees Me” list – write down five small details about yourself that most people might not notice or know. Then remind yourself that God knows all of those things and loves you anyway. Put the list somewhere you will see it when you feel forgotten or small.
Did You Know?
Scientists have studied how many hairs the average person has on their head – and the number is around 100,000! That’s a lot of hairs to count. Yet God knows your exact number. This shows us that God’s attention to detail in caring for you is absolutely incredible – nothing about you is too small for Him to notice.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Does God forget about you – even for one second? How does it feel to know God is always thinking about you?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
If God knows every hair on your head, what does that tell you about how much He pays attention to your feelings and problems?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Jesus uses the sparrow example to take away our fear. In what areas of your life do you most need to remember that God sees you and values you deeply?
♥ Mission Prayer
God, I am amazed that You know everything about me — even the smallest details. Thank You for never forgetting me. Help me to remember that I am valuable to You whenever I feel small or afraid. Amen.
