Mission Briefing

Be Gentle With Doubters

Did you know that being kind to someone who is confused or unsure is one of the most heroic things you can do? Jude – one of Jesus’s brothers – wrote a powerful little letter about exactly that! This mission explores Jude 1:22.

What Does Jude 1:22 Mean?

Jude wrote to believers to encourage them to stay strong in their faith. But he also reminded them to be merciful – that means gentle and caring – toward people who had doubts or questions. Doubts aren’t something to be ashamed of, and they’re not something to mock in others either. When someone is struggling with big questions about faith, the right response is kindness, not judgment. That’s what true heroes do!

Hero Challenge

Think of a friend or family member who might be going through a hard time or asking tough questions about life and faith. This week, choose to be patient and kind with them instead of arguing. Pray for them, and if you can, simply sit with them and listen.

Did You Know?

The book of Jude is one of the shortest books in the entire Bible – only 25 verses long! Even though it’s tiny, it packs a big punch with advice about staying faithful and caring for others. Jude was likely Jesus’s half-brother, which makes his words about mercy extra meaningful.

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Why do you think it’s important to treat doubters with mercy rather than judgment? How can you be a safe person for friends who have hard questions about faith?

♥ Mission Prayer

God, teach me to be gentle and patient with people who have doubts and questions. Help me to show others the same mercy You show me every day. Amen.
