Mission Briefing
Life throws a LOT of confusing questions at you. What’s actually true? What’s the right thing to do? Who should I believe? In John 16:13, Jesus makes an incredible promise – He says the Spirit of truth will come and guide His people into all truth. That means you have the best possible guide living inside you if you follow Jesus. You are not stumbling around in the dark trying to guess which way is right.
Think about what it’s like to hike somewhere new. If you’re alone with no map and no signal, every fork in the trail feels scary. But if you’ve got an expert guide right beside you who knows every path perfectly – that’s a completely different experience. The Holy Spirit is that guide. He knows truth all the way down, and His whole job is to lead you into it. You just have to be willing to follow.
What Does John 16:13 Mean?
When you’re not sure what to do, or someone tells you something that doesn’t feel quite right, you don’t have to panic. You can pause and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. That’s as simple as saying “God, what’s true here? What should I do?” The Spirit is always listening, always guiding, always pointing toward truth. You’ve got the world’s best navigator on your team.
Mission Activity
Draw a simple map on paper – a winding path with a few forks and obstacles. At the start, write “Me.” At the end, write “Truth.” Now draw a glowing guide figure walking beside you on the path – that’s the Holy Spirit. Along the path, write 2-3 questions you actually have right now that you’d love God’s wisdom on. Pray over each one.
♥ Mission Prayer
Dear God, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to guide me. I don't always know what's true or what the right choice is — and I'm so glad I don't have to figure it out alone. Help me to listen to Your Spirit today, especially when I'm confused or unsure. Lead me into truth. Amen.
