Jesus Is the Way!
Have you ever been totally lost and needed someone to show you the way? Jesus made one of the most amazing statements anyone has ever said – He IS the way, the truth, and the life! Let’s dig into what that really means. This mission explores John 14:6.
What Does John 14:6 Mean?
Jesus wasn’t just saying He knew the right road – He said He IS the road! When He says He is the “way,” He means He is the only path to God the Father. “Truth” means everything He says and does is completely real and trustworthy – no lies, no tricks. “Life” means He is the source of real, lasting life, both now and forever. All three of these are wrapped up in one incredible person: Jesus!
Hero Challenge
Jesus is the truth, which means His words in the Bible are always trustworthy. This week, pick one teaching of Jesus and try to live it out every day – like forgiving someone, loving an enemy, or choosing honesty. Write down what happens!
Did You Know?
Jesus made seven famous “I Am” statements in the book of John – including “I am the bread of life,” “I am the light of the world,” and “I am the Good Shepherd.” Each one reveals a different amazing truth about who He is! John 14:6 is considered the most direct of all these statements about Jesus’s unique identity.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
If you were lost in a big forest, how would you feel if someone came and said, “I know the way home – follow me!”? That’s what Jesus does for us!
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Jesus said He is the “way, truth, and life.” Which of those three means the most to you right now, and why?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Jesus made a very exclusive claim – “No one comes to the Father except through me.” Why is this both a challenging and a comforting statement? How do you respond when someone questions this?
