True Wisdom: Understanding and Knowing God
Welcome, Faith Force Wisdom Seekers! Today, we’re exploring what truly matters in life according to Jeremiah 9:24.
Verse Of The Day:
"But let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:24)
Imagine someone who always brags about being the fastest runner, the smartest student, or having the most toys. Those things might seem important, but they don’t last forever! In Jeremiah 9:24, God tells us what’s really worth celebrating in our lives.
Instead of bragging about how smart, strong, or rich we are, God says we should boast about one thing: knowing and understanding Him! Knowing God is the most valuable treasure anyone could have. When we truly know God, we understand that He is kind, just, and righteous in everything He does.
This verse shows us three amazing qualities of God: He exercises kindness (showing love and mercy), justice (making things right), and righteousness (always doing what is good and true). And God doesn’t just have these qualities—He delights in them! That means God takes joy in being kind, fair, and good.
When we focus on knowing God and His wonderful character, we begin to value what He values. We start to delight in kindness, justice, and righteousness too! This is true wisdom—not just having lots of knowledge, but understanding what really matters to God.
Let’s make knowing God our greatest goal and celebrate the wonderful relationship we can have with Him!
"I Know God" Bookmarks:
Create special bookmarks by cutting strips of colorful cardstock or construction paper. Write “I know God is KIND” on one bookmark, “I know God is JUST” on another, and “I know God is RIGHTEOUS” on a third. Decorate them with symbols like hearts (for kindness), scales (for justice), and a crown (for righteousness). Use these bookmarks in your Bible or favorite books as reminders of what you know about God’s character!

Dear God, thank You for letting us know You and understand Your character. Help us to value knowing You more than anything else in this world. Thank You for showing kindness, justice, and righteousness. Help us to delight in these things just as You do. May knowing You be what we celebrate most in our lives. Amen.
