Mission Briefing
The Blessed Life of a Trusting Hero!
What if there was a simple secret to a truly blessed life? According to the prophet Jeremiah, there is – and it fits in just one powerful word: TRUST. Trusting God with your whole heart changes everything! This mission explores Jeremiah 17:7.
What Does Jeremiah 17:7 Mean?
“Blessed” means more than just happy – it means living in the goodness and favor of God. Jeremiah wrote this verse right after warning about the danger of trusting in people or things instead of God. When we make God our trust – not our own abilities, not money, not popularity – we tap into something unshakeable. Like a tree planted by a stream that stays green even in a drought (the very next verse!), a person who trusts God stays strong no matter what!
Hero Challenge
This week, whenever you feel worried or unsure about something, stop and say out loud: “I trust You, God!” Then take a deep breath and let Him carry that worry. Keep a tally of how many times you chose to trust God instead of staying anxious!
Did You Know?
Jeremiah wrote this during one of the most difficult periods in Israel’s history – when the people kept turning away from God and trusting in things that couldn’t help them. Even in the middle of that darkness, Jeremiah pointed to the one truth that never changes: trusting God brings blessing. That truth still stands today!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Who do you trust to take care of you? Did you know that God takes the very best care of all?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What is the difference between trusting in God and trusting in people or things? Why is trusting God better?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Jeremiah says the blessed person’s trust IS the Lord – not just in Him. What do you think is the difference? How deeply do you trust God right now?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, I want to be someone who truly trusts in You — not in things or people, but in You alone. Help me to let go of worry and lean on Your goodness today and every day. Thank You for blessing those who trust You! Amen.
