Learn the Farmer's Secret to Patient, Unshakeable Waiting!
Welcome, Faith Force Patient Farmers! Today, we’re learning the amazing farmer’s secret to waiting patiently with confidence and strength, as shared in James 5:7-8.
Verse Of The Day:
"Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near." (James 5:7-8)
Have you ever watched a farmer plant seeds and then wait months for the harvest? James uses this perfect example to teach us about patient waiting!
James says “See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.” Farmers don’t panic when crops don’t grow immediately – they know that good things take time and the right conditions. They plant, then wait patiently for God to send the rain at exactly the right time.
“You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.” Just like farmers trust that harvest time will come, we can trust that God’s timing is perfect for everything – including Jesus’ return! Patient farmers don’t give up after one week; they “stand firm” through the entire growing season. We can have that same patient, firm confidence while we wait for God’s perfect plans to unfold!
Patient Farmer Waiting Calendar:
Create a large calendar on cardboard showing the next few months. Make small pocket envelopes and label them “Spring Rain” (answered prayers), “Summer Growth” (character building), and “Harvest Time” (God’s blessings). Each day, write something you’re waiting for God to do on a small paper and put it in the right season pocket. Add stickers or marks for each day you wait patiently without complaining. This helps you practice patient waiting like a wise farmer who knows the harvest always comes at the perfect time!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, help us be patient like wise farmers who trust Your perfect timing! When we want things to happen right away, remind us that the best crops take time to grow. Help us stand firm and wait patiently for Your plans, knowing that Your timing is always perfect. Thank You that we can trust You completely while we wait! Amen.
