Mission Briefing
Rise Up and Shine Bright!
Have you ever walked into a dark room and turned on the light – and suddenly everything changed? That’s exactly what God is calling YOU to do in the world. You carry a light inside you that the world desperately needs!
What Does This Mean?
God spoke these words to His people at a time when things felt very dark and hopeless. He told them to get up and shine because His glory – His amazing presence and power – was coming to them. For us today, it means that when we follow God, His light lives in us. And that light isn’t meant to stay hidden. We are called to rise up and let it shine!
Hero Challenge
Think of someone in your life who seems sad, lonely, or discouraged. This week, do one specific thing to bring some light into their day – a kind note, an encouraging word, or helping them with something. You are God’s light in action!
Did You Know?
Isaiah wrote this prophecy hundreds of years before Jesus was born, but many Bible teachers believe it points to Jesus – the Light of the World – coming to earth. When Jesus came, He brought God’s glory down to us, and now that same light lives in everyone who follows Him. Pretty amazing, right?
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
What does a light do in a dark room? How can YOU be a light for someone today?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
God says “arise” and “shine” – those are action words! What does it look like to take action and let God’s light show through you at school?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Isaiah wrote this during a really dark time for God’s people. How does remembering that God’s light is greater than any darkness help you deal with discouraging situations in your own life?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the light that chases away darkness. Help me to rise up and shine with Your love wherever I go today. Use me to bring hope and encouragement to someone who really needs it. Amen.
