Mission Briefing

God Is Waiting for You

We know what it feels like to wait – for Christmas, for a birthday, for something you’ve been hoping for. But did you know that God is also waiting? He is waiting to show YOU His grace and mercy. What an amazing thought! This mission explores Isaiah 30:18.

What Does Isaiah 30:18 Mean?

God spoke this word to Israel during a time when they had made bad choices and were suffering the consequences. But He promised: I’m not giving up – I’m waiting to pour out my grace on you. The word “waits” here means God is eagerly ready, longing to be kind to His people. He is a God of justice, which means He takes wrong things seriously, but He is also overflowing with mercy and grace for those who turn back to Him. And those who wait on Him – trust patiently in Him – are called blessed.

Is there something you’ve been hoping God would do, or something you feel bad about and wonder if God still loves you? This verse is His answer: He is waiting to be gracious to you. This week, come to God in prayer and simply receive His grace. Don’t try to earn it – just open your heart and let Him be good to you.

Did You Know?

Isaiah was one of the longest-serving prophets in Israel’s history, ministering for over 60 years through the reigns of four different kings! He saw his nation make terrible decisions again and again – and yet he kept delivering messages of hope and grace from God. He never stopped believing that God’s mercy was greater than the people’s mistakes.

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

God wants to be kind and good to you! What’s something you can say thank You to God for today?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

God is described as both a God of justice AND a God of grace. Can He be both at the same time? How do you think that works?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

This verse says “blessed are all those who wait for him.” In a world of instant everything, waiting feels like losing. But what does waiting on God actually mean – and how is it different from doing nothing? What does active, faith-filled waiting look like?

♥ Mission Prayer

Lord, thank You that You are waiting to be gracious to me — that Your mercy is always ready. Help me to wait on You with faith, knowing that Your timing is always right. I choose to trust You today, even when I don't understand everything. Amen.
