Mission Briefing
Isaiah 26:3 holds one of the most powerful promises in the whole Bible: God will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are fixed on Him – because they trust in Him. Did you catch that? Perfect peace. Not “okay-ish” peace. Not “peace when everything is going fine” peace. Perfect peace – the kind that stays steady even when life is wobbly and uncertain and loud.
Here’s the thing: it comes with a condition. The peace belongs to those whose minds are stayed on God. That means where you look matters enormously. If your mind is fixed on the problem, the fear, the worst possible outcome – you’ll feel exactly as scared as the thing you’re staring at. But if your mind turns back to God – who He is, what He’s done, how big He is – peace starts to settle in. It’s not magic. It’s a choice you make about where you look.
What Does Isaiah 26:3 Mean?
You can’t always control what happens around you. But you can control where your mind goes. When worry starts creeping in, you have the option to redirect – to think about something true about God instead. It takes practice, like any skill. But the more you do it, the more natural it becomes. And the peace on the other side of that choice? Worth every bit of the effort.
Mission Activity
Draw two columns on a piece of paper. Title the first column “Where my mind goes when I’m worried” and write 2-3 things you tend to think about. Title the second column “What’s true about God” and write 2-3 truths to replace them. Next time worry hits, pull out the second column.
♥ Mission Prayer
Dear God, I want the kind of peace that doesn't depend on everything going perfectly. Help me to keep my mind fixed on You, especially when things feel uncertain or scary. I know that real peace comes from trusting You, not from having all the answers. Keep my mind stayed on You today. Amen.
