Hebrews 1:1-2

19 October 2025 · Hero Mission
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
Hebrews 1:1-2

Mission Briefing

God’s Greatest Message

Imagine getting a message – but instead of a text or an email, the most powerful Being in the universe showed up in person to deliver it. That is exactly what happened when Jesus came to earth. God was done sending messengers. He came Himself! This mission explores Hebrews 1:1-2.

What Does Hebrews 1:1-2 Mean?

For thousands of years, God communicated with humanity through prophets – people like Moses, Isaiah, and Jeremiah who carried God’s messages. But in these last days, God chose to speak through His own Son, Jesus. This is the ultimate message – not just words written down, but the living Word of God walking among us, teaching, healing, and showing us exactly what God is like. Jesus is God’s clearest and most complete communication to humanity ever.

Hero Challenge

Read one story from the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) this week – even just a short one. As you read, ask yourself: “What is God showing me about Himself through Jesus in this story?” Write down your answer. Every gospel story is part of God’s greatest message to the world, delivered personally through His Son.

Did You Know?

Hebrews 1:1-2 opens one of the most theologically rich books in all of Scripture. The author carefully built a case that Jesus is greater than angels, greater than Moses, and greater than every high priest in Israel’s history. The book was written to people who were tempted to walk away from Jesus, and the very first argument was this: Jesus is God’s final word on everything. There is no greater message than Him.

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

God sent His Son Jesus to tell us about Him. What is your favorite story about something Jesus did?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

God used prophets in the Old Testament and then sent Jesus. Why do you think sending Jesus was better than sending just another messenger?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Hebrews says Jesus is the “heir of all things” and the One through whom God created the world. How does knowing that Jesus is both Creator and God’s final message to humanity change the way you think about the Gospels and His teachings?

♥ Mission Prayer

Father, thank You for speaking to us through Jesus — Your greatest and most perfect message. Help me listen to everything Jesus says and let His life show me who You truly are. I am so grateful You did not stay silent. Amen.
