A World Filled With God’s Glory
Have you ever stood at the edge of the ocean and seen how completely the water covers the sea floor – every single inch? Now imagine the WHOLE EARTH filled that completely with the knowledge of God. That’s what this verse promises! This mission explores Habakkuk 2:14.
What Does Habakkuk 2:14 Mean?
Habakkuk was a prophet who lived in a very troubled time, watching injustice and evil all around him. But God gave him this vision: one day, the knowledge of God’s glory – His greatness, His goodness, His power – will fill the entire earth so completely that nothing will be hidden from it. This is God’s promise that His purposes will win. No matter how dark the world looks, God’s glory is coming – and it will cover everything.

Habakkuk is one of the most unusual books in the Bible – it’s actually written as a conversation between the prophet and God, where Habakkuk honestly tells God that things seem wrong and unfair, and God answers him. This verse is part of God’s big-picture answer, reminding Habakkuk (and us) that God’s plan is larger and greater than what we can see right now.
