Walking in the Spirit: Choosing God’s Way Every Day
Verse Of The Day:
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16)
Imagine walking on a path with someone guiding you, helping you make good choices and avoid things that could hurt you. That’s what it’s like to walk by the Spirit! Galatians 5:16 reminds us that when we follow God’s Spirit, He helps us choose what’s right and stay away from things that could lead us away from Him.
Walking by the Spirit means allowing God’s Spirit to guide our thoughts, words, and actions. Instead of just doing what we feel like, we listen for what God wants us to do. This could mean choosing kindness when we’re tempted to be unkind, or being patient when we feel like rushing. God’s Spirit is like a loving guide, always pointing us in the best direction.
With the Spirit’s help, we can grow closer to God every day. We become more loving, patient, joyful, and kind—showing the world what it means to live for God. Let’s trust the Spirit to lead us and remember that He helps us choose God’s way in all things.
Spirit Path Craft:
Create a “Spirit Path” at home! Draw a path on a piece of paper, and along the path, write down ways the Spirit can help you make good choices, like “Choose Kindness,” “Show Patience,” “Be Loving,” or “Stay Joyful.” At the end of the path, write “Walking with God” to remind yourself that the Spirit leads you closer to God. Decorate the path with stars and hearts as symbols of God’s love. This craft helps kids remember that following the Spirit’s guidance helps them live in a way that pleases God.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for giving us Your Spirit to guide us. Help us to follow His lead and make choices that bring us closer to You. Teach us to listen to Your voice and walk in a way that shows Your love. May we always choose Your path and let Your Spirit guide us in all we do. Amen.
