Mission Briefing
Freedom Is for Serving
Did you know that real freedom isn’t just about doing whatever you want? God set us free – but He has an amazing purpose for that freedom. It’s called love-powered service! This mission explores Galatians 5:13.
What Does Galatians 5:13 Mean?
Paul is writing to a group of believers who had been set free from rules that couldn’t save them. He reminds them that freedom is a gift – but it’s not meant to be used selfishly. Instead of using freedom as an excuse to do wrong things, God wants us to use it to love and serve others. True freedom shows up in how we help the people around us.
Hero Challenge
This week, choose one person in your family or school and secretly do something kind for them – without being asked and without telling anyone. Maybe clean up something that isn’t yours, write them a note, or help carry something heavy. Serve them freely, just because you love them!
Did You Know?
In Bible times, the word “freedom” was huge – many people lived as slaves and had no choice in anything they did. When Paul talked about freedom, his readers felt the weight of that word. He was saying: you’ve been given the most amazing gift – now use it to lift others up!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Can you think of one kind thing you can do for someone in your family today?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think God wants us to use our freedom to serve others instead of just doing what we want?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
How can serving others actually make you feel more free, not less? Can you think of a time when helping someone gave you real joy?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, thank You for setting me free! Help me use that freedom to love and serve the people around me. Teach me to look for ways to help others, even when no one is watching. Amen.
