Mission Briefing
Moses was facing one of the hardest situations of his life – leading a huge group of grumpy, scared people through a wilderness, unsure of what was ahead. So he asked God for one thing above everything else: “Don’t send me unless You go with me.” And God’s answer, in Exodus 33:14, is one of the most comforting things ever said: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Not instructions. Not a map. Just: I’ll be there, and that’s enough.
God’s presence isn’t just a nice feeling. It’s the source of everything we need. When God is with you, rest becomes possible – because you’re not carrying everything alone. When God is with you, the scary places become survivable. You might not know the way, but He does, and He’s right there beside you for every step.
What Does Exodus 33:14 Mean?
Wherever you go today – school, practice, a difficult conversation, a new place, somewhere that makes you nervous – God goes too. His presence is not limited to your bedroom or a church building. He is with you in the hallways, at the lunch table, on the bus, in the hard moments. And wherever He is, rest and peace are available to you. You just have to remember He’s there.
Mission Activity
On a small piece of paper, write: “God is here with me.” Fold it up and put it in your pocket, backpack, or shoe. Every time you change locations today, take it out and read it. At the end of the day, think of the hardest or scariest moment – and remember God was there for that one too.
♥ Mission Prayer
Dear God, what a promise — that You go with me everywhere. Not just to church or in quiet moments, but to the hard places, the scary places, the places I'd rather not be. Help me to feel Your presence today. Remind me that where You are, rest is possible. I don't need to be afraid. Amen.
