Exodus 20:8
Sabbath Keepers: Remembering God’s Day of Rest
Verse Of The Day:
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." (Exodus 20:8)

Imagine having a special day each week that’s set aside just for you to rest, have fun, and spend time with God. That’s what the Sabbath is all about! In Exodus 20:8, God tells us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. This means we should treat the Sabbath as a special day, different from all the other days of the week.
The Sabbath is God’s gift to us—a day to pause from all our work and activities, to relax, and to focus on Him. It’s like getting a weekly invitation from God to spend time with Him and recharge our hearts, minds, and bodies. When we honor the Sabbath, we’re following God’s example, because even He rested after creating the world!
Keeping the Sabbath holy doesn’t mean we have to sit still all day—it means doing things that bring us closer to God, like praying, reading the Bible, spending time with family, and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. It’s a day to find joy in God’s presence and to thank Him for all the blessings in our lives.
Sabbath Treasure Box:
Create a “Sabbath Treasure Box” at home! Find a small box and decorate it with things that remind you of the Sabbath, like the words “Rest,” “Joy,” or “God’s Day.” Each week, before the Sabbath begins, write or draw something you’re looking forward to doing on the Sabbath and place it in the box. It could be a special activity, a prayer, or a quiet moment with God. At the end of the Sabbath, open the box and talk about what you did and how it helped you feel closer to God. This activity helps kids look forward to the Sabbath and treasure the special time with God.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for giving us the Sabbath, a day to rest and draw closer to You. Help us to remember this special day each week and to keep it holy by focusing on You and the blessings You’ve given us. May our Sabbaths be filled with joy, peace, and Your presence, as we honor You with our time and our hearts. Amen.
Keep honoring the Sabbath, Faith Force Sabbath Keepers! Until our next Divine Dispatch, remember that the Sabbath is God’s gift to you—a day to rest, recharge, and rejoice in His love. Let’s make each Sabbath a time of special connection with God and with those we love.
