Mission Briefing
You Are God’s Masterpiece!
Did you know that God made you on purpose, for a purpose? Just like a master artist plans every brushstroke before painting, God planned good things for YOU before you were even born! This mission explores Ephesians 2:10.
What Does Ephesians 2:10 Mean?
The word “workmanship” in this verse means you are God’s masterpiece – His greatest work of art! God didn’t just create you and leave you on a shelf. He made you with special gifts and abilities so you can do amazing things that help others and honor Him. Those good works were already waiting for you before you took your first breath!
Hero Challenge
This week, look for one “good work” you can do each day – maybe helping a sibling, encouraging a friend, or picking up trash at the park. Keep a journal or draw pictures of each good work you do. At the end of the week, look at how many good things God helped you accomplish!
Did You Know?
The Greek word used for “workmanship” is poiema, which is where we get our English word “poem.” So you are literally God’s poem – something beautiful that He carefully crafted with love! This same word was used by ancient Greeks to describe the finest works of art.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
God made you just like a artist makes a painting. What is your favorite thing about how God made you?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
If God already planned good works for you to do, what do you think some of those good works might be? How can you find out?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Ephesians 2:10 says we were created for good works that God “prepared beforehand.” How does knowing that God has a specific plan for you change the way you see your daily choices and the way you treat others?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, thank You for making me Your masterpiece! Help me to see the good works You have planned for me today and give me a willing heart to do them. Amen.
