Mission Briefing
The God Who Fills Everything
Have you ever tried to fill a glass all the way to the top – not one drop missing? God did something even more amazing: He put ALL of Himself into Jesus. And through Jesus, He brought everything broken back together again! This mission explores Colossians 1:19-20.
What Does Colossians 1:19-20 Mean?
Paul tells us that Jesus wasn’t just a good teacher – He was fully God walking among us. Because Jesus died on the cross, the wall that sin built between us and God came crashing down. God used that cross to make peace with every person and every part of creation. It’s like the greatest repair job in all of history, and Jesus was the one who did it!
Hero Challenge
Think of a relationship in your life that feels broken – maybe a friend you argued with or a family member you’re not getting along with. This week, take one step toward making peace with that person. Write them a note, say sorry first, or simply smile and say hi. Be a peacemaker just like Jesus!
Did You Know?
The word “reconcile” in this verse means to bring two parties who were enemies back into friendship. In Paul’s day, it was a word used for peace treaties between warring kingdoms. God treated our friendship with Him like the most important peace treaty ever signed – and Jesus signed it with His own life.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Jesus is God’s Son who loves us so much He made us friends with God again. Can you think of one person you want to be friends with today?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What does it mean that Jesus made “peace” between us and God? Why do you think we needed that peace?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
If Jesus is fully God and He chose to die on a cross for us, what does that tell you about how much God values you? How should that change the way you treat others?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for being fully God and for coming to make peace between me and God. Help me to be a peacemaker in my family and with my friends this week. Amen.
